About Peshawar Zalmi Team
Peshawar Zalmi represent the iconic city of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, with Arbab Niaz Stadium as the home ground, along with Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium if Peshawar does not host any matches.
Peshawar Zalmi’s greatest success came in 2017, with Darren Sammy, when they won their first PSL championship by beating the Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs in the final. Zalmi has also reached the PSL finals twice, in 2018 and 2021, demonstrating the team’s ability to perform consistently at a high level. They have reached the playoffs consistently and have one of the best overall records in the PSL among all franchises.

The franchise began in the PSL’s first season in 2016. It was initially awarded to Peshawar by the PCB for US$16 million over 10 years, secured by Javed Afridi, the CEO of Haier Pakistan. In November 2025, Javed Afridi (also the brother of Shahid Afridi) signed a new agreement that lasted an additional 10 years (2026–2035), with an estimated value disclosed by Ernst & Young. The current annual payment Zalmi makes under this new agreement is Rs. 490 Million (PKR).
