HBL PSL T20 Overview

This year again, the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League clash, as both leagues start on the same date. Remember, both leagues are rivals, and foreign cricketers love playing in both, making it difficult for them to choose quality over money. The league helps identify young talent, giving them exposure and training them for the national level. Looking at the tournament format, this year the event will be played in a double round-robin followed by playoffs.

HBL PSL 12 will return in March 2027, with eight franchises competing for the championship. The tournament will follow the expanded eight-team edition introduced in 2026, which also marked the league’s first player auction, replacing the previous draft system.

The PCB has confirmed the dates and participating franchises, but the complete tournament format, total number of matches, match-by-match schedule, and playoff arrangements have not yet been announced. These details will be updated once the official PSL 12 schedule becomes available.
