Karachi Kings have announced their squad for PSL 2027 and are gearing up to reclaim their throne once more. The franchise made notable moves ahead of the new season, including retaining the core that delivered a much-improved campaign in 2026, with David Warner once again leading the side. Salman Ali Agha, who was signed for PKR 5.85 crore at the inaugural auction, remains vice-captain and the team’s most important domestic batting asset.

Karachi Kings PSL 2027 Auction
The 2026 player auction at the Lahore Expo Centre on February 11 was a landmark moment for the PSL, and Karachi Kings used it well to rebuild around Warner and a strong Pakistani core. The franchise entered the auction with four retained players and a clear plan: surround their overseas captain with experience and give him a bowling attack that could win games.
They brought back Warner for PKR 7.9 crore, a deal that made him one of the most expensive buys of the auction, and added Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha for PKR 5.85 crore after a competitive bidding round. Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa was secured for PKR 4.5 crore, giving the Kings a genuine wicket-taking option through the middle overs. Powerhouse wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan was also acquired for PKR 3.25 crore.

The owner of Karachi Kings, Salman Iqbal (CEO of ARY Digital Network), signed a new one-decade agreement (2026–2035) with the Pakistan Cricket Board in November 2025. In exchange for an annual fee of approximately Rs. 640 million (based on Ernst & Young valuations), Salman Iqbal will continue operating his franchise.
The Kings will be looking to build on a promising 2026 campaign under Warner’s leadership. The Australian’s experience has been invaluable for the younger Pakistani players in the squad, and the franchise is hoping that continuity in leadership and a settled core can finally deliver a second PSL title.
