Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen PSL 2027 Auction

The historic first-ever PSL player auction took place on February 11, 2026, in Lahore. The Kingsmen entered the event with one of the largest budgets at PKR 50.5 crores, thanks to their status as a new franchise and strategic direct signings.

Their first major move was securing fast bowler Mohammad Ali for PKR 2.15 crore. They continued to strengthen their roster by winning fierce bidding wars for Kusal Perera and Irfan Khan Niazi, ensuring a balanced mix of experience and emerging talent.

Following the auction, they made a headline-grabbing move by signing Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana as a replacement for Ottniel Baartman, who was ruled out with an injury.

Theekshana brought 82 T20I wickets at an economy of 7.08 to the squad. They also brought in Glenn Maxwell mid-season, and his impact was immediate — his 70 off 37 balls against Rawalpindiz remains one of the defining innings of their campaign.

About Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen Team

Hyderabad Kingsmen became the seventh team to join the PSL, and the franchise aims to give the fans of Hyderabad a team they can call their own while leveraging the professional management of the FKS Group. The Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen are one of the most talked-about additions to the PSL, and their debut season proved they belong at the top table. Owned by the US-based FKS Group, the franchise entered the league with a massive bid of PKR 1.75 billion, marking a new era for cricket in the Sindh region.

Owner Fawad Sarwar revealed that the Kingsmen’s valuation has tripled since the purchase, with an independent valuation firm assessing the franchise at nearly $190 million during their debut season. Sarwar has also been vocal about the financial structure of the league, warning PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi that Pakistan’s underwhelming international performances are having a negative impact on the commercial value and image of the PSL.

Marnus Labuschagne continues as captain, with Jason Gillespie serving as head coach. Hassan Khan is vice-captain. The franchise’s home ground is Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad, though logistical considerations may see them play some home matches at neutral venues, as has been the case for other franchises in the past.
